School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

“The School Council promotes pupils views”

“Pupils feel valued and listened to”

“Pupils are justly proud of their school and they make an excellent contribution to the school and local community in their roles as councillors”

(Ofsted, 2011)

Our Council has representatives from every class who are nominated and voted on.  We hold regular meetings and have made decisions on things that involve us.  For example recently our fellow class members all wanted to change their houses to be like the Year 3 children (where all children in a class are all the same house).  We took our ideas to the teachers and they agreed and now we can all cheer the same house on in competitions and at Sports Day.

Life is never dull here for there are so many exciting tasks to do and lessons to learn.

When you come to Riverview Junior School we are sure you will enjoy it as much as we do.

At Riverview Junior School, our Pupil council is all about Change for the better. It allows all of us pupils to be a part of the continuous development and improvement, getting our ideas heard by all. The Pupil council is run by the pupils, for the pupils and looks at improving all aspects of school life.

We strive to withhold the school’s motto- believe we can be even better tomorrow than we are today- by ensuring we are constantly looking at how we can improve as a school and as a community. As elected officials by the rest of our peers, we are taking on this duty with pride, ensuring that everyone has a voice and that voice is heard. We can all make a difference and work together to keep Riverview as a great, collaborative community.

If you have any suggestions for us to discuss, or would like to get involved in our work then please don’t hesitate to let us know.
