In RE children are learning about the world’s principal religions as well as looking in depth at Christian festivals such as Christmas and Easter. We want children to look forward to their RE lessons and to use them as a time to think about ‘the big questions’ of life.

 

During RE lessons we hope that children will develop their critical thinking skills. We want Riverview students to be able to think about and discuss aspects of their own personal and spiritual development, as well as learning facts and information about the religions they are studying.

 

We try to deliver RE in a range of different ways to engage the children. In addition to more ‘traditional’ classroom learning we try to use drama, religious artefacts, film clips, ICT, art, games and discussions to make our lessons more exciting and interesting. Trips to places of worship and visits from outside speakers are arranged wherever possible.
