Riverview Junior School

School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

In addition, The pathway Academy Trust has a Trust parliament comprising of children from each of the five TPAT schools. This council meets termly to discuss and decide on issues that affect the Trust as a whole. For eg. Chosen Charities and inter-school tournaments.

“The School Council promotes pupils views”

“Pupils feel valued and listened to”

“Pupils are justly proud of their school and they make an excellent contribution to the school and local community in their roles as councillors”

(Ofsted, 2011)

Our Council has representatives from every class who are nominated and voted on.  We hold regular meetings and have made decisions on things that involve us.  For example recently our fellow class members all wanted to change their houses to be like the Year 3 children (where all children in a class are all the same house).  We took our ideas to the teachers and they agreed and now we can all cheer the same house on in competitions and at Sports Day.

Life is never dull here for there are so many exciting tasks to do and lessons to learn.

When you come to Riverview Junior School we are sure you will enjoy it as much as we do.
